Herbalife sponsor FC Barcelona

The nutrition and weight management company Herbalife has become the official nutrition sponsor of FC Barcelona.

Details of the deal see the Los Angeles-based company enjoying the global rights to the team’s logo, significant on-field advertising and access to players for various promotional activities.

Furthermore, Herbalife will be the main sponsor for the Catalan club’s 2010/2011 pre-season friendly match schedule, during which the Herbalife logo will appear on the left sleeve of the team’s shirt in all international friendly matches.

Speaking ahead of the official Herbalife press release, scheduled to be announced later this week, Herbalife independent distributor Roy Davidson said, “One of the reasons this deal is so appropriate for us is that we share many similar values: FC Barcelona is ‘more than a club,’ and Herbalife is more than a company. Our Herbalife brand stands for great nutrition as part of a healthy active life and FC Barcelona is recognized for the importance it places on nutrition as part of its training. We believe that our portfolio of products can play a key role in further enhancing that program.”
